  Mrs. Mary Arnold Passes. Another of the aged and esteemed residents of New Hamburg has passed away in the person of Mary Buckel, widow of the late Lorentz Arnold, who died at her home early yesterday morning in her 87th year. Mrs. Arnold had been in feeble health for some time due to the infirmities of old age. The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Buckel, Sr., and was born in East Zorra on December 11th, 1849. Following her marriage on January 10th, 1871, to Lorentz Arnold she resided on a farm in South Easthope on the Shakespeare-Tavistock highway until they retired to New Hamburg in 1909. During her long life she was a faithful member of Holy Family Church and in her younger days gave much of her time and ability to church affairs. Sixteen years ago on January 10th Mr. and Mrs. Arnold celebrated their golden wedding. Mr. Arnold died on November 27th, 1923, and two sons William and Jacob, also predeceased her. There are left to mourn her demise six daughter and two sons, namely, Mrs. J. J. Berger, Mrs. John E. Reid and Misses Matilda and Lovina, of New Hamburg, Mrs.J C. C. Carmody, of Detroit, Mrs. J Edward Dietrich, of South Easthope, John, of near Shakespeare, and Eugene, of New Hamburg. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Henry Buckel, of Toronto, and Louis in Pennsylvania, Mrs. John Rabb, Detroit, and Mrs. Chas. Messner, Kitchener. There are also 24 grandchildren and 2 great grand- children. The funeral will be held on Monday forenoon at 10 o'clock to Holy Family Church for requiem mass followed by interment in the local R.
