    • Mrs. David Goetz - The death occurred at her home here last Friday morning of Mary Nicholas, beloved wife of Mr. David Goetz, at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 11 days. The deceased had been in failing health for some time, but about two weeks ago her condition took a turn for the worse and death claimed her. The late Mrs. Goetz was born in East Zorra Township on December 26th, 1861, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Nicholas. In April, 1895, she was married to David Goetz and had since been an esteemed resident of our town. Besides her husband she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Hesse, New Hamburg, and Mrs. Werner Brodrecht, East Zorra, and one grandchild. One son, William, predeceased her about five years ago. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon from her late home on Webster Street to Riverside Cemetery. Owing to the absence of Rev. A. E. Pletch, Rev. E. D. Becker, of Zion Evangelical Church, Elmira, conducted the service. The pallbearers were, B. Dietrich, Wm. Lotz, Ezra Nichlas, John Brodrecht, Henry Brodrecht and Chas. Yause.
