  • Notes
    • Julie Diebel passed away peacefully at 5: 15 on the evening of Friday June 3rd, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Lorne, her daughters Jennifer and Laura, two sons-in-law, four beautiful grandchildren, her loving parents, Al and Stella Mueller, and her older brother, Alan. We know that she enjoyed a sweet reunion with her son, Josh, who passed away ten years ago at age 13.

It was a warm spring night when Julie came into the world. She was welcomed with open arms by her parents and older brother. Julie was always a kind, good-hearted little girl. Though busy and adventuresome, she was a joy to raise.

She always had a love for music. From an early age, she developed her God-given talent for singing?a talent she always shared freely. Her passion and zest for life came through every time she sang. Anyone who has heard Julie's rendition of O Holy Night knows that this carol belongs to her.

She found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was 21. The truth that families can be eternally bound as they follow Christ's example resonated with her. She was baptized, and remained faithful throughout her life. It was at church that she met her sweetheart, Lorne. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington D.C. Temple on December 29th, 1989. Their 26-year journey together taught them to love deeply, cherish each other, and shoulder the burden of trials and heartache together.

Julie was a natural-born mother. Nothing gave her more joy than raising her three children, and making a home where her family could be peaceful and happy. Motherhood was what she lived for, and it showed in all she did. Her selfless example in raising a family is second to none. But her loving kindness was not confined to the home. Julie became a certified Educational Assistant, and found gratification in her work with Special Needs students and troubled children.

She was a woman of profound faith and devotion to the Lord, Jesus Christ. She volunteered countless hours ministering to others through her callings as a member of the LDS Church. She served diligently in its organizations for children, youth and women. She also participated in the Church's humanitarian efforts, donated time and resources to Sally's House of Melbourne, and never failed to lend a helping hand when she saw someone in need.

Julie's battle with recurring brain tumors began in 2006, just two months after losing her son Josh to congenital heart failure. Over the next ten years she underwent five surgeries, several rounds of radiation, as well as chemotherapy. She endured all of these trials with grace, and unwavering faith that her fate was in God's hands. Though we will miss her terribly, we know that she is in His loving care.

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 9th 2016 beginning at 10 o'clock am at the LDS Chapel, located at 1145 Creel St. in Melbourne, Florida. Funeral services will begin promptly at 11 o'clock. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 S US-1 in Rockledge, Florida.

Anyone planning an expression of sympathy is asked to consider The LDS Perpetual Education Fund or the charity of you choice.
