Notes |
- A citizen who fills an important place in the industrial life of New Hamburg is Mr. H. C. Brightrall, foreman of the buffers' and polishers' department of the Hahn Brass Co. Mr. Brightrall was born in Waterloo County but went to the United States when 11years of age. He returned to the land of his birth 6 years ago and has creditably filled his present position ever since. Needless to say, he is a thorough mechanic and does well whatever comes to his hand.

Death of Former Resident.
The death took place at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Wednesday, June 5th, of Mr, Henry C. Brightrall, a former esteemed and well known resident of New Hamburg in his 80th year. The deceased was a native of Waterloo County, but went to the United States with his parents in his boyhood days. He resided for some years at Oshkosh, Wise., and later in Grand Rapids, Mich. Mr. Brightrall came to New Hamburg in 1902 when the Hahn Brass factory was started here. He was a faithful employee of this company for over twenty-five years until he retired some years ago owing to advancing years, His wife predeceased him here four years ago and since then he made his home with his only son, Mr. Clarence Brightrall, of the Bank of Commerce staff, London. The deceased was a member of the local court of the Canadian Order of Foresters and while residing here worshipped in St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The funeral will be held this Friday afternoon with service at 1 o'clock at the W. A. Hunt funeral home in London, following which the remains will be brought here for interment in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Erdman will have charge of the graveside service.
