Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on January 31, 2009 at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Harriston, at the age of 74. He will be missed by his two sons, Carl Kuhn Jr. of Virginia, USA and William Kuhn of Chesley. Loving grandfather of Matthew Kaufman Kuhn and Mariah and Brianna Kuhn. Brother to Milton (Marjorie) Kuhn of Waterloo, Kenneth (Evelyn) Kuhn of Kitchener, Dorothy (Fred) Delong of St. Jacobs, Rita (Harvey) Mueller of Stratford, and Norma (Jim) Moore of Truro, Nova Scotia. Brother-in-law of Clarke Dettweiler. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William and Maryann Kuhn (nee Otterbein) of Heidelberg, sisters Katherine Dettweiler and Wilma (and Carl) Keller, brothers Harold and Norbert, and niece Heidi Keller. Carl will be missed and remembered by many family and friends. Cremation has taken place.
A special 'thank you' to Dr. John Vanderkooy and the staff at Caressant Care Nursing Home for their attentive care given to 'The Big Guy'. Carl's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday March 7, 2009 from 11: 30 - 12: 45 pm with a memorial service at 1 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Officiated by Pastor David Williams of Tiverton, ON. Reception to follow. Carl's family welcomes the opportunity for family and friends to speak of their fond memories of Carl at the memorial service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
