- Mrs. James Cockerton
Mrs. James Cockerton of New Hamburg died on Tuesday of last week at the Scott Pavilion of the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. She was 85 years of age.
The former Etta May Ruby, she was born Aug. 6, 1884 in Dashwood, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Ruby. She had lived in New Hamburg most of her life. She was a member of Zion United Church.
Her husband predeceased in 1959. Surviving are one son, Ward, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Mildred) Gingold, both of New Hamburg; three brothers, Mahlon, Detroit; Gifford, Wisconsin, and Milford, New Hamburg and five grandchildren.
Funeral service was conducted at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
