  Joseph Scheerer The death took place last Wednesday at his home in South Easthope of Mr. Joseph Scheerer, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 5 days. Deceased had been in failing health for some time, but on Monday suffered a paralytic stroke, which hastened his end. The deceased had been a life-long resident of the township, having been born on the farm where he died. He leaves his widow and two sons, Louis Scheerer, of New Hamburg, and Clayton on the homestead. The funeral took place on Sunday to the Sebastopol Lutheran Cemetery and was largely attended. New Hamburg Independent, November 26, 1920
