Notes |
- Peter Hammacher, "the youngest of the family, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1773. About the year 1796 he was married to Elizabeth Shaefer. In the year 1805 they, (When on their way coming to Canada they had to stop for a few days at Buffalo, owing to the sickness and death of their eldest child, Rebecca, who died and was buried at Buffalo, New York) with their small family and others, moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario, near the village of Doon where he died in 1840. To them was born a family of nine children"
