- Franklin Sievenpiper of 27 Chapel St. died today at St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 86. Born near Cayuga, he had lived in the Twin Cities for more than 60 years. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and had been a funeral director, formerly employed with the Kitchener Furniture Co., and the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home. Later, he worked at the Doon Twines Ltd., retiring in 1962. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lottie Becker in February, 1963. Surviving are two sons, Morgan, Kitchener and Perlous, Riverside, Calif., and one daughter, Mrs. Idella Leahy, Kitchener, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Ira, in 1954. The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday where Rev. F. W. Zinc will conduct a service Tuesday at 2 p.. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Arthritis and Rheumatism Society or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
