- Mrs. Bert Holtzhauer - E. Irene Mae Holtzhauer of Nithview Home, New Hamburg, formerly of Kitchener and Roseville, passed away at Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Centre on Tuesday, July 4th, 1995. She was 91. Born in Ayr, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Arias) Wismer. Irene was a member of Grace United Church, Roseville, where she had been an Elder, a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the U.C.W. She enjoyed bowling and crocheting as her hobbies. Beloved wife of the late Bert Holtzhauer who predeceased her August 15, 1959. Loving mother of (Betty) Elizabeth Poll of Cambridge, Audrey and her husband Ernie Holm of Owen Sound, La Verne and his wife Brigette of Paradise, California, Rose Marie and her husband Don Wagler of Baden. She is also remembered by Dolores and her husband Randie Hopkins of Tavistock, 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Frances Holtzhauer of Kitchener. Irene was predeceased by three sons, Kenneth, William, Calvin, one daughter Merle Wood, a son-in-law Harold Poll, two brothers, Benjamin and William, and five sisters, Lottie, Margaret, Julia, Addie and Dorothy. Rested at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg. Funeral service was held Thursday at Grace United Church, Roseville, with Pastor Kyle Benger and Pastor Gerald Schwartzentruber (of Nithview Home) officiating. Interment Roseville Cemetery.
