    • Fretz, Lydia, daughter of Amos and Anna (Martin) Cressman, was born Sept. 6, 1872, at New Hamburg, Ont.; died of pneumonia Aug. 4, 1959, at her home in Vineland Station, Ont.; aged 86 y. 10 m. 29 d. She was married in 1894 to Christian Fretz, who died June 30, 1944. Surviving are 2 daughters (Anna-Mrs. Aaron Hallman and Mrs. Lena Ressor), 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. One son preceded her in death [presumed dead, but was still living]. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Vineland, Ont.; where funeral services were held Aug. 6, in charge of Wayne North, A. L. Fretz, and Elvin Snyder.
