    • Harold W. Knechtel - Harold W. (Spike) Knechtel, 138 Union Blvd., Kitchener, died suddenly Saturday at K-W Hospital. Mr. Knechtel, 66, had returned only last week, from a 21 day trip to the Maritimes. A professional electrical engineer, he had been an employee of the Dominion Rubber Company, tire division, for 46 years, prior to retiring in February of last year. A familiar figure in Twin City sport circles, he was a member of Twin City Lodge, Af and AM, the Kitchener Young Men's Club, a director of the Waterloo Club, past president of the Niagara District Electrical Engineers Association and past president of the Brantford District Professional engineers Association. Born in Chatham, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert T. Knechtel, he had resided in Kitchener for 55 years. He was a member of First United Church, Waterloo. Surviving are his wife, the former Anne Schade, and one brother, Leslie A. Knechtel, Toronto. Two sisters predeceased him. The funeral will be held Tuesday from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home at 2 o'clock followed by interment in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. R.D. Horsburgh will officiate.
