- MaryLou Joy Devitt, age 71, of Borden Street, Stratford, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, November 5, 2007. She was born in Kitchener on January 7, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Carl and Olive (Weber) Harnock. Beloved wife of Gordon Arnold (Skip) Devitt, who predeceased her on August 5, 1985. Dear mother of Terry Devitt and fiancee Anne Akerley of Kitchener, Wendy Devitt of North Carolina, Kim Riness and husband Robert of Innerkip, Judy Jacobs and husband David of New Hamburg, Linda Ladd and husband Michael of Woodstock and Valerie Kocher and husband Anthony of Kitchener. She will be lovingly remembered by her sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Kenneth Harnock of Waterloo, Bill Harnock and wife Barb of Kitchener, Wayne Harnock and wife Marie of Brussels and Susie Zettler and husband Ron of Waterloo. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Lloyd Dorscht of Waterloo and Clinton Bauer of Glenn Allen. Also lovingly remembered by special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Helen and Ron Devitt of Stratford and several other in-laws. As well as her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Sharon Dorscht, June Hayward and husband Al and Shirley Bauer; a brother, Robert Harnock and wife Fran; a sister-in-law, Irene Harnock and a special friend, Robert Gates. At MaryLou's request, there will be no funeral home visitation. Cremation will take place. A family graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford on Thursday, November 8, 2007. Deacon Mark Stagg of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford VON or the Community Care Access Centre through the Heinbuck Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford at 519-271-5062.
