White baskets of spring flowers, ferns and candles formed the set- ting at Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church today for the marriage of Miss Elva Audrey Shantz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmon Shantz, 107 Simeon St., to Mr. Lester Wayne Zehr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Zehr, 157 Elgin St. Rev. A.R. Shelley officiated. Miss Ruth V. Eby was organist. The soloist, Mr. C. Ballington Til- ley, sang "The Lord's Prayer" prior to the service and "Because" at the signing of the register. Wears Heavy Satin The bride wore a gown of heavy white slipper satin fashioned with a square neckline and an inset yoke of nylon net edged with shadow lace and lily point sleeves. A bustle back accented the wide skirt and fell into deep folds form- ing a slight train. A halo, studded with seed pearls, caught her fin- gertip veil of tulle illusion net. She carried a white Bible with white satin streamers knotted with gardenias and sweet peas. Her only ornament was a strand of pearls, the gift of the bride- groom. Mrs. Roy Chesterman, Preston, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore an orchid gown of cordedd taffeta with drop shoulders and embroidered Bertha collar, fitted bodice and full skirt. With it she wore a matching mit- tens and a Victorian style head- dress of matching orchids. Bridesmaids, Miss Jean Keast, Kitchener, and Miss Marjorie Zehr, Kitchener, were gowned in apple green and doffodil yellow corded taffeta respectively. Their gowns were fashioned similarly to the matron of honor's and they wore similar headdresses and matching mittens. Carry Similar Bouquets All attendants carried crescent bouquets of pale pink carnations. Mr. Clifford Zehr, brother of the bridegroom was best man. Ushers were Mr. Carl Gascho and Mr. Verle Shantz, brother of the bride. Following the ceremony a dinner was held at the Old Mill for 75 guests. Tonight a reception will be held for 125 guests. Receiving the bride's mother will wear a navy blue crepe gown with navy and pink accessories and the bridegroom's mother will wear an aqua two-piece ensemble with navy accessories.
