    • JOHN RADTKE

      A former bricklayer in Kitchener for many years, John Radthe, 71, of Heidelberg, died Saturday, April 2 in the K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness.

      He is survived by his second wife, the former Josephine Schell, whom he married Sept. 1, 1951. His first wife, the former Mary Bremner, predeceased him in 1949.

      Mr. Radtke was born in Kitchener Aug. 29, 1888, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Radtke.

      Also surviving are five sons, William, James, Elmer and Laverne Radtke of Kitchener and Roy Radtke of Elmira; six step-sons, William, Jerome, Frederick and Michael Schell of Kitchener, Carl Schell of Doon and George Schell of Bridgeport; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Novak of Waterloo; one step-daughter, Mrs. Victor (Alice) Bowyer of Heidelberg; and one sister, Mrs. Frank Kersnowski of Detroit.

      He has 18 grandchildren.
      The body was at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m., with Very Rev. Finlay G Stewart officiating. Burial was In Mount Hope Cemetery.
