- RAITER, Norman W. At Kitchener - Waterloo Hospital, on Saturday, November 26, 1977, suddenly, following a heart attack, Norman William Raiter, of 74 Ellis Cres. N., Waterloo age 79 years. Mr. Raiter was born in West Montrose, a son of the late William Raiter and the former Magdalene Brohman. He was a mem ber of St. Agnes RC Church. A charter and life mem ber of the Waterloo Lions Club and a member of the Canadian Order of Forest ers. Mr. Raiter founded Raiter Transport Company in Guelph in 1928, and moved to Waterloo in 1929. He continued to operate this company in Waterloo until his retirement in 1952. The company was taken over by Kingsway Transport. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Gladys Smith, in 1975, and by a sister, Olive (Mrs. Joseph Snyder). He is survived by his sister, Annetta (Mrs. Albert Bruder) of West Montrose. and lovingly remembered by his friend, Veronia Inglis. Friends called at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener. where parish prayers were recited at 8 p.m. Prayers were said at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10: 30 a.m., followed by funeral mass at St. Agnes RC Church at 11 a.m. Interment Woodland cemetery.
