- KILLED BY FALL ON PILE OF IRON
Joseph Leaper Meets With Fatal Accident at Forge Co.'s Plant.
INQUEST TO BE HELD
While cleaning windows above the crane room at the Canadian Buffalo Forge Co.'s plant this morning Joseph Leaper, aged above 50, at ten o'clock, fell to the floor below, landing on a pile of tron. His skull was completely crushed and death followed in about five minutes after the accident.
From what can be learned Leaper, with a companion, was engaged in shifting the support which they had as a safeguard when he lost his balanee and fell. He landed head first on the iron and the impact crushed the bones of his skull.
Dr. J. F. Honsberger coroner. was immediately summoned but life was extinct when he arrived. While the Coroner decided that death was purely accidental, Crown Attorney Bowlby considered that an inquest was necessary in order to comply with the regulations of the Workmen's Compensation Board. The inquest will be held: this evening at the City Hall at 7.30 o'clock. Mr. Leaper resided at 11 Simeon. street. He is survived by his wife.
