Notes |
- Death of William Witt
The death occurred at Hamilton on Tuesday of William Witt, a former well-known hotelkeeper of Baden and Kitchener, at the age of 60 years. He suffered a paralytic stroke a few months ago from which he never recovered. The deceased was born in Poole and married to Miss Mary Forler, of Baden, where he conducted the Baden Hotel and later went to Kitchener, where he ran the Station Hotel, then the American and later the Clarendon. For the past two years he conducted the King George Hotel at Hamilton. He was well-known in fraternal circles and took keen interest in baseball, hockey and other sports. His widow and one son, Clayton, survive. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. Bert Stiefelmeyer, at Kitchener, to the East End Lutheran cemetery.
