Note	Oakley, Barbara Maria - It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Maria Oakley (nee Kropf) announce her passing, on May 23, 2000, at West Parry Sound Health Centre, after suffering a heart attack at her cottage in Point-au-Baril. Beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Oakley who predeceased her in October 1989. Daughter of the late Simon Kropf and Barbara Albright. Loving mother of Eddie Oakley; daughter, Jean and husband Larry Weland, all of Waterloo; devoted and caring grandmother of Greg Weland of Waterloo, Chris Weland of Guelph and Jonathan Weland of Kitchener and his fiancée Dana Herbert. Predeceased by five sisters and four brothers, all from the Waterloo-Wellington area. Barbara was the last surviving member of her large family. Her vitality for life and devotion to her family, will always be deeply remembered, as she was a wonderful wife, mother, teacher and confidant. Her sharp wit and keen sense of humour will always be cherished by her surviving family. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Red Cross Homemaker Service, with a very personal thank you to Stephanie Karges for five years of devoted service and loving and compassionate care. Barbara's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2000 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's RC Church, Waterloo, Rev. James Malone officiating. Internment Woodland Cemetery. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 4 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
