- Christian S. Weber," was born March 3rd, 1847. He is married to Margaret Schneider and resides on his father's old homestead near Heidelberg where he is engaged in farming. In 1889 he was elected as a member of the Woolwich Township council which position he held for four years in succession. In 1893 he was appointed Second Deputy Reeve which position he held for two years, and in January, 1895, he was elected First Deputy Reeve. He is a man that is very Popular among all classes of his acquaintances and has so far proved himself to be an able man to represent the interests of his supporters at the table. His family is as follows, namely: Ada, Selinda, Addison, Lillie, and Nellie."

C. S. Weber, Esteemed Woolwich Township Official, Died at Waterloo, Aged 80
C. S. Weber, former reeve, and for almost 20 years treasurer of Woolwich Township, passed away Friday morning at his home in Waterloo, in his 81st year. Born in Wilmot Township, the late Mr. Weber spent the greater part of his life in Heidelberg; only within recent years moving to Waterloo. Owing to his active public career he was widely known and he was highly esteemed throughout Waterloo county. In 1893 C. S. Weber was elected as a councillor in Woolwich township and later he was made reeve and deputy. In 1907 the deceased man was appointed treasurer for the township from which position he resigned only two years ago. In 1872 Mr. Weber married Margaret Snider and his union was blessed with five children, all of whom survive. His wife predeceased him 14 years ago. Surviving are one son and four daughters, Addison of Kitchener; Mrs. J. A. Steiss of Heidelberg; Mrs. M. Boas of Chesley; Mrs. W. Bricker of Waterloo; and Nellie at home. Two brothers, John S. of Elmira and Louis S. of Waterloo and one sister Mrs. M. Hardy of Port Huron, Mich., also survive. Earl Steiss of Heidelberg is the only surviving grandchild. The funeral of the late Mr. Weber was held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of the deceased to the Heidelberg Evangelical church.
