L.S. Weber
The death of L.S. Weber, 81, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.F. Ott, Allen and Willow Streets, Waterloo, at four o'clock this morning after an illness of five weeks. The deceased was born at Heidelberg on March 22, 1853.
In addition to his farming activity at Heidelberg, the deceased was widely known in the livestock trade. He subsequently moved to Kitchener and was one of the founders of the first rubber factory here, known as the Berlin Rubber Company. For some years he was associated with the late Jacob Kaufman in the rubber and timber industries. The late Mr. Weber was actively interested in the promotion and development of several local and provincial industrial enterprises.
After the death of his wife, he spent the larger part of his time in California. Owing to advancing age, he returned to Waterloo this summer to make his home with his daughter.
His wife, Emma Knechtel of Listowel, to whom he was married in 1875, predeceased him on January 31, 1926. His daughter, Annie (Mrs. E.L. Hooper), of Oakland, Calf., also predeceased him on Oct. 12, 1924. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.F. Ott of Waterloo and Mrs. A.D. Gishler of Buffalo and four sons, I.S.K., of Los Angeles, E.O. of Kitchener, L.A., of Vancouver and Roy of Edmonton.
The funeral which will be private, will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.F. Ott, Allen and Willow Streets, Waterloo. Rev. H.A. Kellerman is to officiate. Interment will be made in Mount Hope Cemetery.
