    • BEAVER, Mary Ellen (nee Harrow) Passed away peacefully at Saint Luke's Place on Friday, June 14, 2013. Mom celebrated her 91st birthday on April 1st. Cherished mother of Carol McCafferty of Cambridge, Kenneth and his wife Cara Lea, Lorne and Lloyd (Sam) all of Drayton Valley, Alberta. Beloved grandmother of Sherry Kinzie, Bradley Beaver, Tara Beaver and great-granddaughter Brittany Block. Survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Audrey and Harry Wells and sister-in-law Mary Beaver. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Beaver, parents George and Gertrude Harrow, brothers Stanley, John (Jock), Donald, Frank and sister Evelyn Almas. Mom's zest for life included bird watching and travelling. She enthusiastically resumed water colour painting later in life. Her loss of vision curtailed so many of her cherished activities. She approached each day with dignity and joy and never failed to see the humour in things. Mom's home has been at Saint Luke's Place since 2004 and we want to express our gratitude to all staff, especially our second "floor" family for their compassionate care and support. You will always be remembered. Our heartfelt love and gratitude to George and Jim, whose frequent visits and outings with Mom made her feel loved and special. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no service or visitation. In memory of our mother, donations to Saint Luke's Place Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (519) 653-3251. "The greatest gift of our lives was having you and Dad as our parents"
