      PRESTON- A veteran of the First and Second World Wars, Dr. Aeneas McKay Urquhart, 61, of 146 Church St., Preston, died suddenly at his home today. He was formerly Preston medical officer of health.

      Born in Oakville, Dr. Urguhart practised medicine in Hespeler before coming to Preston 28 years ago.

      A Mason, he was a member of the Scottish Rite and a Presbyterian, Dr Urquhart was also member of Victoria Encampment Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

      While serving in France during the First World War he was captured and held as a prisoner of war.

      Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothea Beckman; two sons, Gordon and Robert, all of Preston: two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Minns of Toronto and Mrs. S. A. B. McCleary of Oakville.

      The body is at the Little Funeral Home, 39 Grand Ave., Galt, until Tuesday when removal will be made to Knox Presbyterian Church, Preston, for services at 2 p.m.

      Rev. A. H. Vair of Preston will officiate and interment will be in Hespeler Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home.

      URQUHART, AENEAS MCKAY
      was born in Oakville in 1895, and died in Preston on June 11, 1955. He was a son of Dr. John Urquhart of Oakville. He married Dorothes Schaus and they had two sons.

      He received his early education in Oakville, and then attended St. Andrews College, Aurora. After a year at the University of Toronto he enlisted in the army. On his return from overseas he returned to university and graduated from Trinity Medical School in the summer of 1924. He began to practice at Hespeler but after six months moved to Preston.

      He had a successful practice, was medical officer of health for Preston, and was involved with the local hospitals. He was on the Board of Directors of St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, and was active on the staff of the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital.

      He was an expert hunter and fisherman, and was interested in all forms of sport.

      In the first war he went overseas as a Lieutenant in the Canadian forces and was posted to the British army. He was taken prisoner at Arras in March 1918. and released in November of that year. In the second war he joined the Highland Light Infantry in 1940. He held the rank of Captain, and went overseas in advance of the regiment. He was attached to the Canadian Forestry Corps, in Scotland, where he served for two and a half years, returning to Canada as a Major. He was then stationed in Canada until the end of the war.

      He was popular as a person as well as as a physician, with a good sense of humor and a friendly interested manner. He died suddenly and unexpectedly, although he had undergone a serious operation six months previously. He was survived by his widow and two sons
