- PALECZNY, BEATRICE Marie (nee Boegel) After a short illness, Beatrice passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. She was born in Kitchener (Berlin) on May 4, 1911. Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, Alexander Boegel and Bertha Bernhardt; her brothers, Arthur and Philip Boegel; sisters, Florence Bock and Irene Lorentz; and daughter-in-law, Camilla Paleczny. Beatrice's love is cherished by her children, David and wife Mary, Paul and wife Cynthia, Brian and wife Sheila, and Peter (pre-deceased wife Camilla). Also deeply loved are her grandchildren, Christopher, Martin, Alan, Jeffrey, Andrea, Catherine, Pamela, Terri, Greg, Jameson, David and Marla; and 14 great-grandchildren. Beatrice had been a member of St. Louis RC Church since 1937 when she married Michael Paleczny who predeceased her in April 1970. She was an active member for the past 75 years of St. Louis Catholic Women's League, and a past President. She was a member of the Senior Knights of Columbus, Waterloo Council, the Carmelite Guild, Right for Life and St. Mary's General Hospital Volunteer Association. For the past six years, she resided at the Sunshine Centre, Lutherwood Village in Waterloo. Beatrice was an avid golfer and she loved a good game of bridge with her many friends. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, September 16 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. Beatrice's funeral mass of celebration will be held at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences for the family and memorial donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or Grand River Regional Cancer Centre may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
