  Kropf, Elizabeth, daughter of Nicklas and Annie Roth, was born Nov. 29, 1870; died very suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rudy Roth, Oct. 27, 1953; aged 82 y. 10 m. 28 d. On March 8, 1886, she was united in marriage to Joseph Kropf, who died eight years later*. She lived in widowhood for 49 years. In her youth she was received into the Amish Mennonite Church and remained faithful until death. Surviving are one daughter (Sarah - Mrs. Rudy Roth), one son (Ezra, East Zorra), one brother (Christian, East Zorra), 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services were held at the East Zorra Church in charge of Moses H. Roth and Henry Yantzi, with burial in adjoining cemetery. Gospel Herald - Volume XLVII , Number 3 - January 19, 1954-page 70, 71 *This cannot be accurate. It probably should be 18 years later. That would mean he died in 1904. As the above obituary states "she lived in widowhood for 49 years. That would be a true statement since she died in 1953 - 49 years since her husband's death in 1904.
