  Kropf, Art 1929 - 2011 Passed away peacefully at A.R. Goudie Eventide Home on Sunday, April 3, 2011, surrounded by his loving family to be reunited with his dear wife Joan who predeceased him in 2004. Survived by his daughters Linda (Brian) of Waterloo, Teri of Atlanta, Debbie (Peter) of Waterloo, and son Mike (Lisa) of Waterloo. Grandchildren Lindsay and Bradley Griffin, David, Vania and Kristina Gottschalk, Tara, Adam, Ashley, Kyle Kropf, Jamie and Joel Dowsett, and great-grandson Cooper. Also survived by his sisters Dianne Hause and Gladys Klie, brothers Wayne (Jackie) Kropf, Albert Kropf, Bob (Anne) Kropf. Sisters-in-law June Kropf, Gloria Kropf, Peggy (Russ) Elmore, brothers-in-law Ken Gawthorn, and William Sommers, sister-in-law Jeannette Sommers along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Esther Gawthorn, brothers, Lawrence Kropf, George Kropf, brothers-in- law Jack Hause, Harry Klie, Don Kehn and Jim Sommers, sisters-in- law Ruth Kropf, Theresa Sommers, and Ethel Kehn. Art worked for Electrohome and then Deilcraft for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed many winters in Florida with Joan before her passing and continued to enjoy the life they had created at their home beside the river in Fergus until moving to Waterloo to live with his son and daughter-in-law for a number of years before moving to A.R. Goudie. The family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to the staff of A.R. Goudie (especially Judy/ Tricia) for the loving care and compassion they have shown Dad in his time with them. They truly are angels here on earth! Art's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 8: 45 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 10: 20 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 followed by procession to St. Michael's R.C. Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo for a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Father Con O'Mahony officiating. Interment Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo followed by a reception in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society or the Friends of the Grand would be greatly appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
