Robert James Wood of 83 Locust St., Kitchener, died on Monday of last week at the Kitchener-Waterloo hospital at the age of 79.
Mr. Wood was born in Nanticoke and lived in Kitchener for the past 24 years. He was a custodian. He worked for Dominion Rubber Co. Ltd., now Uniroyal 1966, for nine years until retiring in 1955. He was an adherent of the Anglican Church,
He was a son of the late Mr and Mrs. Robert Wood. A son, Elmo Wood, four brothers and two sisters predeceased him.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyne Armstrong whom he married in Kitchener in 1949, four step-sons, Henry Kavelman of Wellesley, Neil Kavelman of Waterloo, Earl and Howard Kavelman of Kitchener; two step-daughters, Mrs. Willard (Katherine) Pfohl of Kitchener, Mrs Ralph (Lenona) Schmidt of Bridgeport; one granddaughter, 23 step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Underhill officiating Burial was in Woodland cemetery
