- HERGOTT, Gerald Louie "Gerry' -After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, in his 64th year, of Waterloo.
Mr. Hergott had been retired from J.M. Schneider Inc. after 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Agnes RC Church, Waterloo, Holy Names Society and was an active member of AA.
Beloved husband of Rita (nee Reitzel); dear father of Charlene and her husband Jim Brewer of Kitchener, Dennis, David and his wife Kimberly and Michael, all of Waterloo; loving grandfather of Chris and Tyler Hergott, Rebecca and Danny Hergott, Jeff, Cortney and Andrew Brewer; brother of Bruce and his wife Eleanor of Shakespeare, Ken of New Hamburg and Laverne and his wife Maureen of Linwood.
Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Laura Hergott; a sister, Shirley Martin and a granddaughter, Laura.
Mr. Hergott's family will receive friends at the Edward R. good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, this evening (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial from St. Agnes RC Church at 2 p.m., Father Joseph Dephoff officiating. Interment Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
