  Obituary of Patricia Elizabeth Kropf Mom passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 7, 2018 at Nithview Home, New Hamburg in her 97th year. Dear mother of Jamie and his wife Shelley; loved grandmother of Matthew (Alysha), Meghan (Chris) and Jillian; great-grandmother of grandsons, Aidan, Quentin, Liam, Emmett and Wyatt. She was predeceased by her husband Emmett in 1996 who she married May 29, 1951 in New Hamburg. Also predeceased by four sisters Gertrude, Martha (Clayton) Wagner, Shirley (Leonard) Lorentz and Helene. She will be lovingly remembered by her five brothers: Claude (Elaine), George (Shirley), Al (Marilyn), Gerald (Judy), and Tim (Sue); and 3 sisters, Margie, Connie and Paula Povey (Bob); and 25 nieces and nephews Pat will be sadly missed by Gladys Kropf and Ernie Ritz. Pat was the daughter of the late Alvin Forler and Esther Pauli, and was born April 29, 1922 near Haysville, Ontario. She was the eldest in a family of 13 children, and was often viewed by her younger siblings as their second mother. Pat was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church for almost 60 years. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mom always seem to have unlimited energy for her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and other crafts, and made wonderful themed birthday cakes and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Her positive outlook on life and her can-do attitude have been an inspiration to her family. Her family would like to thank Dr. Cowing and the wonderful, caring staff at Nithview Home who took such good care of her in recent years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Pat with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Monday Sept. 10 from 6-9 p.m. A celebration of Pat's life and faith will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Reception will immediately follow the service. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg at a later date. Donations in Pat's memory may be made to Nithview Home, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Kitchener or the Alzheimer Society of Canada and may be arranged through the funeral home.
