  • Notes
    • WAGNER, ALBERT LEROY was born in Berlin on June 8, 1893. and he died in Elmira on July 17. 1961. He was a son of Noah Wagner of Berlin. He married Elizabeth Adele Jackson, and they had one son.

He was educated locally and he taught school before he entered the University of Toronto. He served overseas in the first war, with the R. C. A. M. C., and graduated in medicine in 1918. He was discharged from the army with the rank of captain.

His decision to practice in Elmira was reported by the Elmira News of the Daily Telegraph on August 11, 1919.

From good authority we heard that Dr. Wagner, of Kitchener, was in town, looking over the rapidly growing little burg, and being satisfied, he purchased the A. H. Steen property on King St.

He practised in Elmira from that date for 42 years, was Medical Health Officer for Elmira and coroner for Waterloo County. In the second world war he was an officer in the reserve. His interests outside his practice were hunting and fishing.

He died suddenly from a heart attack on July 17. 1961, and was survived by his widow and a son, and his sister, Dr. Mildred Wagner, Kitchener.
