  SIMON, David John Passed away peacefully at his home on April 8, 2016. Beloved husband for more than 40 years of Sonja Simon. Loving father to Nancy (Rob Marson), Susan (Derek Daniels), Peggy (Tom Rhodes) and Kate (Jon Hendel). Proud grandfather of Sophia Daniels and Cameron Marson. Dear brother-in-law to Jurgen and Gita Mayke. David was predeceased by his parents, John and Kathleen Simon, and his sister, Christine Croth. David was born April 4, 1941 in Kitchener and, following a career with Hiram Walkers & Sons, retired to his home in Conestogo. David will be missed especially for his quick wittiness and his innate ability to make friends with anyone. We will deeply miss his bigger than life presence and heart. David's family wishes to thank his many friends who provided thoughtful care and fellowship especially these last few weeks; including all of the team members from CCAC. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with David's family at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, (519-749-8467) on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 1 p.m.- 2: 45 p.m. The memorial service for David will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 3 p.m. A reception will follow.
