  Herbert F. Eitel Sr. GALT, Herbert F. Eitel Sr., formerly of 140 Wellington St. Galt, died Wednesday, at South Waterloo Hospital. He was 74. Mr. Eitel was born in Preston and had resided 70 years in Galt. Until his retirement in 1967, he owned and operated Eitel's grocery store for 32 years, on Wellington Street. He was a member of St. Patrick's RC Church, was a charter and honorary life member of Galt council, Knights of Columbus. He was a musician and in former years had conducted orchestras. He was also a member of the Amity Club in Galt. He was predeceased by his wife the former Barbara Beattie, in January 1959. Surviving are one son, Herbert F. Jr. of Galt, two daughters Mrs. Thomas (Doreen) Kirby of Kitchener and Mrs. John (Margaret) Kehler of Calgary; one brother, Jacob and one sister, Mrs. Eugene (Catherine) (Kate) Phaneuf both of Galt, 12 grandchildren. The body is at Little's Funeral Home, 39 Grand Ave. Galt, until Saturday morning, then to St. Patrick's RC Church, for funeral mass, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery.
