- This stool was a personal gift to Emma Hostetler, a Mennonite missionary from Ontario. It was made in the Nupe kingdom of northern Nigeria, whose craft specialists were noted blacksmiths, brass workers, weavers, and tailors. Hostetler, the first worker sent out to Nigeria in 1907 by the Bethany Missionary Church, died there of smallpox in 1912.
