  Enos Shantz, "was born June 26th, 1843. On February 21st, 1883, he was married to Elizabeth Strickler who was born April 29th, 1854, and died March 7th, 1884, leaving no heirs. Mr. Shantz resides a little south-east of Berlin where he owns a beautiful small farm, being part of his great-grandmother's old homestead." Eby, Ezra E. (1895). Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. _________________ Shantz. - Enos C. Shantz was born on June 26, 1843, near Berlin (now Kitchener), Ont.; died Feb. 16, 1921; aged 77 y. 7 m. 21 d. On Feb. 21, 1883, he was married to Elizabeth Strickler, who died March 7, 1884, leaving no heirs. In his early years he united with the Mennonite Church of which he was a member till death claimed him. He leaves to mourn his loss one brother (Eli), two sisters (Mrs. Jacob Shelley and Magdalena) and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services on the 19th at the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, conducted by the brethren, U. K. Weber and Jonas Snider. Burial in the cemetery near by.
