  Amsy S. Shantz Amsy S. Shantz of Fairview Mennonite Home in Preston died in the South Waterloo Hospital in Galt Friday after a brief illness. He was 85. Born in Kitchener, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Shantz, he had lived in Preston for the past two years. He formerly lived at RR 2, Hespeler, and farmed at RR 3, Kitchener. Mr. Shantz was a member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. Surviving besides his wife, the former Luella Kinzie, whom he married in Breslau in 1915, are one son, J. Clifford of Salem; five daughters, Mrs. Amos (Vera) Kipfer of Manilla, N.Y., Nora of Waterloo,. Mrs. David H. (Alice) Bauman of Flora-dale, Mrs. Stanley (Myrtle) Stricker of Kitchener and Mrs. Russell (Mildred) Scheerer of RR 1, Hespeler and 12 grand-children. Mr. Shantz was the last surviving member of his family. He was predeceased by four sisters, three brothers and two sons. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where Rev. Howard Schmitt of Wanner Mennonite Church will conduct the service on Monday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.
