  Lynn Russwurm legally adopted Shirley's two youngest, Nicole and Jerry, legally making them his children. ________ Shirley Russwurm February 22, 1937 - March 29, 2023 Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 with her family by her side, at Barnswallow Place Care Community, Elmira, at the age of 86 years. A daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, loved and respected by many. Predeceased by her parents Gerald and Gladys Butt, her beloved husband Lynn Russwurm, daughters Yvonne and Lynda. She was a devoted wife and took an active role in all of Lynn's musical endeavours, a wonderful "nanny" and "super-nanny". As the president of the Barn Dance Historical Society, Shirley was instrumental in starting its museum. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. There will be no service.
