- Conestoga College nursing prof killed in collision in Centre Wellington
CENTRE WELLINGTON A Conestoga College nursing professor was killed in a collision between a car and a dump truck on Thursday.
Amy Stiles, 38, of Fergus was killed in the collision on County Road 21 in Centre Wellington at about 4: 50 p.m. She was the driver of the car.
In addition to being on the faculty at Conestoga, Stiles was the co-ordinator for the personal support worker program at Riverside Glen in Guelph, where she offered on-site learning for her students. She was married and had three children.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union, the union representing striking community college faculty members, said Stiles was returning from a rally at Queen's Park in support of the strikers when the accident occurred.
The dump truck driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Wellington OPP are investigating
