    • WALLACE, Frederick Burton - Passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener. Fred resided near Rosebank for many years. He was born 87 years ago in Truro, Nova Scotia a son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Lindsay) Wallace. Fred was an active member of the New Dundee United Brethren Church and had been a member of the New Dundee Board of Trade. He was retired after 32 years of employment with B.F. Goodrich. Fred served overseas during the Second World War with the 65th Canadian Tank Transporter Company RCASC in Great Britain and North West Europe and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 532, New Hamburg. He enjoyed chip carving, dark room photography and gardening as his hobbies. Beloved husband of Alice Evelyn (Hallman) Wallace who he married October 2, 1948. Loving father of James Wallace and friend Isabelle of Markdale, Alan and Joan Wallace of Walters Falls and Susan Steel of Timmins. Sadly missed by grandchildren, Taraleigh and Daniel Wallace, Oscar (Cathy), Rachel and Rosalind Steel. Also remembered by daughter-in-law, Sue Wallace of Chatsworth; brother, William Wallace of Reading, Mass.; sisters, Hazel Herrick of Stoneham, Mass. and Kathleen Armsworthy of Edmonton, Alta; sisters-in-law, Glennie Wallace of Sarnia, Kathryn and Wilbur Shantz of New Hamburg, Margaret and John Brueschwyler of Sparta, N.J. as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by daughter, Heather Mae (1957); by daughter-in-law, Laurie Ferguson Wallace (1986); by brothers, Reginald Wallace and Robert Wallace; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wallace and brother-in-law, Ken Herrick. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Thursday (please note time) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. On Friday, May 4, 2007 transfer will be made to the New Dundee United Brethren Church for the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Somerville officiating. Burial to follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery, New Dundee. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the United Brethren Church or St. Mary's Hospital Foundation. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6: 30 p.m.
