George Grosz Passes in 58th Year Had Served Town 33 Years.
DIED THURSDAY
Funeral services were held Monday for George Grosz, manager of the Waterloo Public Utilities Commission for the past six years, who died at his home here. Thursday night. Deceased, who was in his 58th year, had served the commission faithfully and well for 27 years.
Always active in municipal affairs, Mr. Grosz was a member of the Wa terloo Park Board for 14 years, and was chairman at the time of his retirement in 1933. He was a past president of the Waterloo Musical Society and the Waterloo Board of Trade, and had taken keen interest in both organizations.
A charter member of the Young Men's Club, the deceased was also associated with the Waterloo Welfare Board He was also a member of Waterloo Masonic Lodge, A.F. and A.M., the Royal Arch Chapter and also of the Waterloo Germania Lodge I.O.O.F.. Mr. Grosz was a past master of the Masonic Order and a trustee of the Odd Fellows order at the time of his death.
Mr. Grosz, in ailing health for the past two years, died suddenly, and had been at work at 4.30 in the afternoon The Union Jack on the town halls fluttering at half mast in his memory.
Mr. Grosz, who was born in Waterloo is survived by his mother, Mrs. Fred Grosz, his wife and one son, George, of Waterloo, one brother, William, of Waterloo and one sister, Mrs. Milton Massel of Kitchener.
Private service was held at the residence at 2 p.m., followed by public service at St. John's Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a member. Interment took place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rev. C. S. Roberts officiating.
