  UZZIAH SHANTZ A well-known Strasburg farmer for the past 35 years, Uzziah Shantz, 73, died August 18 at his home at Strasburg after a brief illness Born June 11, 1875, in Wilmot Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shantz. He was a member of Weber Mennonite Church, Strasburg. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Soloman (Grace) Bowman, of Floradale, and Mrs. Tobias (Erma) Bowman, of Lexington. and a son Leonard, of Parkway. Two brothers survive, Norman of Haysville; Simeon, of New Hamburg; and two sisters. Mrs. Ephriam Schmidt, of Baden. and Mrs. Clara Mackenzie. of Kitchener. Five grand-children also survive. he funeral service was held from his home at Parkway at 2 p.m. Sunday to Weber Mennonite Church, Strasburg, for services at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Simon Martin, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
