  Samuel Hammacher, "was married to Elizabeth Göebel. They resided in Wilmot Centre for some time, then they moved to Corteville, Michigan where he died some years ago. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. ___________ Samuel Hammacher, "was married to Elizabeth Goebel who died at Doon, Waterloo County, Ontario, in May, 1851, and after her decease he was again married to Mary Ann Burns who died at Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1891. Mr Hammacher's family consisted of thirteen children, ten (All of the ten children are living yet. Not many families of ten where they all live together for forty-five years) of whom were born unto his first wife." Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
