  • Notes
    • Thomas Kilgour Passes Suddenly - The citizens of the town were shocked to learn on Tuesday evening that Mr. Thomas Henry Kilgour, proprietor of the Grand Theatre, died very suddenly at his home on Wilmot Street, shortly after partaking of his evening meal. Death was caused by a sudden weak attack of the heart. Mr. Kilgour's sudden passing is regretted by all and deep sympathy is felt for the sorrowing wife and family in their sudden bereavement. The late Mr. Kilgour was in his 53rd year and farmed successfully near Ayr for many years. Owing to being afflicted with a weak heart he retired from the farm and moved to New Hamburg two years ago, and purchased the local moving picture theatre as well as taking over the rural mail delivery on route No. 1 from the local post office. He delivered the mail as usual on the day of his death. During his two years residence in New Hamburg the late Mr. Kilgour endeared himself to a large circle of friends through his kind and cheerful personality. He leaves his sorrowing widow, four sons and one daughter to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. The children are: foster of Simcoe, Charles of Paris, and Buster, Lloyd and Helen at home. The funeral will be held this afternoon with service at Ayr at 2: 00 o'clock followed by interment in the Ayr Cemetery.
