  James Oliver James Orville Oliver of London, formerly of Ayr, passed away on August 2nd. He was in his 86th year. Born in Richwood, he was a son of the late Samuel Oliver and Margaret Bateman. Mr. Oliver spent his early years in Ayr, attending school here. He served overseas with the army and then returned to Ayr where he worked at Ramsey's Store. In the 1930's Mr. Oliver moved to London where he worked as a maintenance man at the old federal building for the post office. He also enjoyed helping with a stand at London market which he did until three years ago. While in Ayr, he was a fine hockey player with the outstanding Ayr hockey team of the 1920's. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Masonic Lodge and Christ Anglican Church. Predeceased by his first wife Jean Veitch and second wife Maude Blancher; two sisters Myrtle Bricklin and Florence Hamlyn; brothers Ted, George and Sam. Surviving are his wife Kathleen McGuire; two daughters Dolores Shelton and Joan Forster, both of London; and a sister Theresa Pritchett of London.
