Former Highly Esteemed Resident of Ayr Passes Suddenly at Victoria, B, C.
The sudden and unexpected death occurred at her home. 1151 McClure street, Victoria, B.C.. on Tuesday, February 15, of Mrs. John Goldie, a former highly esteemed resident of Ayr.
Mrs. Goldie, whose maiden name was Florence Donaldson, was a granddaughter of William Baker, one of the pioneer Merchants of this village, her mother's name being Jennie Baker. She was a niece of Mr. and Mrs. David McColl, with whom she made her home since childhood.
Mrs. Goldie received her early education in Ayr and later attended Brantford Ladies' College. After her marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Goldie resided at various points in Canada and later came back to Ayr to make their home. Some 15 years ago the family removed to Victoria, B.C.
Besides her husband, who is at present confined to the Victoria Hospital, where he underwent a serious operation early in February, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Keith Dorman, and two grand-children. The funeral took place to Victoria Cemetery on Thursday, Feb. 17th.
