  Harriet B. Shantz, "was born August 31st, 1844. On March 18th, 1866, she was married to Rev. Jacob B. Detweiler. They have no family." Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. _________________ Death of Mrs. J.B. Detwiler The many friends of Mr. J.B. Detwiler will be sorry to learn of the death of his wife which occurred on Thursday night at their residence in Didsbury. Mrs. Detwiler was taken ill with pneumonia on Sunday night last, and while hopes for her recovery were not given up till within the last day or two the case was considered serious from the first. She was 64 years of age. The funeral will take place at the Mennonite Church, Didsbury, on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Detwiler leaves no family but her husband to mourn her loss and who has the entire sympathy of the whole community. The Didsbury Pioneer, December 4, 1908, page 1
