  Death of Charles K. Holdaway One of Ayr's native sons, Charles K. Holdaway, died suddenly at his home here early Friday morning in his 74th year. He was born July 5, 1889, son of the late Edward Holdaway and Sarah Buckborough. He was a member of the former Methodist Church here. A carpenter by trade, he was employed for many years by the John Watson Mfg. Company Ltd., until his retirement four years ago. Mr. Holdaway was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Edith Holmes of Brantford, Mrs. Earl (Florence) Herman of Ayr and Miss Adeline Holdaway, and a son, Edward, Hamilton. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ellen Emilie Hawes, 28 years ago. The Funeral Funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. W. Pyke at the Ball Funeral Home, Ayr, on Monday with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Leo Hachey, Henry Bechtel, William Underwood, Arthur Underwood, Henry Iles and Ben Ibele.
