  • Notes
    • The death of our post master, Mr. A. M. Fraser came as a shock to the villagers on Wednesday, January 6th. Mr. Fraser who was in his 72nd year had been ailing for a few weeks before, still kept at his post in the office until a couple of weeks ago. He seemed to go down quickly at last. He was put in for post master 10 years ago last October on the 23rd after the retirement of Miss Viola Brown. He has been living in the village ever since he was a lad coming here with his mother and the rest of the family from North Easthope. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Wilfrid and William, of Shakespeare, Raymond, of Windsor, and four daughters, 'Evelyn', Mrs. A. M. Swift, of London, 'Jessie', Mrs. Beasley, of Pasadena, California, Annie at home, and Mary at London Telephone staff, four sisters, Mrs. (Dr.) S. Rutherford, Mrs. Mary Rutherford and Mrs. Alexander Crerar, of Stratford, and Mrs. Park, of Florida, formerly of Woodstock. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon from his late residence to St. Andrew's Cemetery where interment was made. Rev. T. J. Murdock conducted the services both at the house and at the cemetery. The pallbearers were: Wm. Fisch, Tom McGunnigall, John Fisch, John Scherer, George Capling, Joseph Thompson.
