    • Death of Mrs. Norman Ament

We are sorry to report the death of Jessie Edna Gray, beloved wife of Mr. Norman Ament, who passed away at her home here on Tuesday afternoon. She had been suffering with a nervous breakdown, but appeared to be convalescent. Her sudden death therefore came as a shock to her many friends. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. John and the late Mrs. Gray, of Atwood, where she was born 31 years ago. After her marriage eleven years ago she came to New Hamburg and during her residence here she endeared herself to a large circle of friends, who deeply regret her early demise. Besides her sorrowing husband she leaves her father and three sisters, Mrs. Sterritt, of St. Marys, Mrs. Porterfield, of Atwood, and Mrs. Stewart, of Peterboro, and three brothers, Andrew, of Avonbank, and William and Russell, of Atwood. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon with service at the house at 1.30 o'clock after which the funeral cortege left for Atwood where interment took place in the Elma Centre Cemetery. The deceased was a member of the local Rebekah Lodge, members of which acted as pall bearers.
