  Kenneth Schwartzentruber 1928 - 2016 Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Kenneth resided in New Hamburg and was born in Petersburg 88 years ago on April 30, 1928. He was the son of the late Allen & Elizabeth (Wagler) Schwartzentruber. Beloved husband of Robena Gerber for 9 years and is predeceased by his first wife Grace (Bender) Schwartzentruber. Loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to: Virginia and D. Michael Hostetler and children Stefan and Amber Hostetler, Sofia & fiancé Mark Goulet; Willie (Wilda) and Winfred E. Stoltzfus and children Marcos and Jessica Stoltzfus and children Lillian and Gertrude, Bia and Anthony Bowers and child Patrick, Tomas Stoltzfus and children Audriana and Talia, Raquel and Andrew Roth, Carla Reneé Stoltzfus and Dusty Prall and child Maia, Davi Stoltzfus and Lucas Stoltzfus; Michele Rae Rizoli and her children Lucas Rizoli and Echo Railton and child Enzo, Eric Rizoli; K. Daniel (Dan) Schwartzentruber and Karen McDonald and his children Alyssa and Bruce Watson and child Adelynn, Jeremy Schwartzentruber and Tyler Schwartzentruber. Ken will be missed by brothers Vernon (June) Schwartzentruber, Leonard (Delphine) Schwartzentruber and by Sisteri-in-law Eleanor Roth, as well as nieces, nephews, and countless loved ones in Brazil. Kenneth was predeceased by brother Lyle Schwartzentruber and his granddaughter Paula Rizoli. A commitment to follow Christ led Ken and Grace to serve in Brazil with the Mennonite church for 32 years in bookstore publishing, church ministry and hospitality. Ken lived with a spirit of adventure, loved travel, books and learning. He was a consummate recycler and expressed that passion by volunteering at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre to raise funds for the MCC. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 1 \endash 4 & 7 \endash 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Steinmann Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Steve Drudge and Ilene Bergen officiating. Interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nazareth Village, Mennonite Central Committee or Steinmann Mennonite Church.
