    • CANNING, Margaret Ethel

      At Riverbend Place, formerly of Aberdeen Road, South, peacefully, on Sunday, August 17, 1997, in her 91 st year. Margaret (nee Ford) was the beloved wife of the late Ernest S. Canning (1986). Margaret, daughter of the late George B. and Mary Ford, was born at Little's Corners, North Dumfries and was a lifelong resident of Galt. Margaret is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Hilda Kanmacher; her niece, Margaret and her husband. Howard DeBrusk; and her nephews, David Poland and his wife Alice of Southampton and Bruce Poland and his wife Maryanne. Margaret will be fondly remembered by several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Grace Poland and her brothers-in-law, Joseph Poland and Sylvester Kanmacher. Margaret was a member of the Red Cross, the IODE, the Silver Star Society and the Hesperian Group of Trinity Anglican Church. Friends will be received at the T. Little & Son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street East, Cambridge, from 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 12-1 p.m., on Tuesday. Funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel, on Tuesday, August 19, 1997, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Robert Grisdale officiating. Interment to follow at Mount View Cemetery.
